Now they encourage them on front line positions where they can't hack it and on deployments where their very presence creates serious morale problems, like on submarines. When I was in the navy twenty years ago, something like 1/3rd of women were airlifted from every deployment for getting pregnant. It was a poorly kept secret that many of them did this intentionally to come home early or keep from being deployed all together. Of course, women don't belong in the military any more than they belong in a boxing ring.

This matters though. Most of social media is labelling Khelif a man or trans. which is incorrect - or at best a gross oversimplification.

Most boxing matches are a mismatch and it is not uncommon to see one guy towering over another guy and having an obvious physical advantage (height, reach, build etc). MMA (which this was not obviously) is even more likely to have mismatches which seem to be intentionally set up to create battles of weight/ strength vs speed / agility. The point being, nobody cares about mismatches most of the time.
If the set up for this particular match was unfair (and I would argue that it was) then Carini could have refused to get into the ring and raised her objections to the organisers. But she chose to get into the ring. And when she chose to stop the fight it was stopped.

This is not a coherent argument because the same argument also applies to thousands of 'glass cellar' jobs that are dirty, dangerous, unpleasant and which ruin your health and often lead to injury or death. I applaud the sentiment (never raise a helping hand to a terf); but as a matter of fact, Imane Khelif is not a "transwoman", but a woman who seems to have some sort of genetic disorder causing abnormal testosterone levels. There are pics of her as a child in female garb, and she has lost to (less delicate) female boxers before. The online free press will not supplant the regime media anytime soon if we cannot get this sort of thing right.
False. He was genetically tested and found to have XY chromosomes. If anything, 'she' is a man with abnormal testosterone levels.

Apparently she has Swyer Syndrome (female genitals and XY chromosomes). There are many similar conditions (such as Kleinfelter's, Turner's, etc.) that often only come to light after puberty if at all. If that means she has to be treated as a man, then perhaps a male with XXXY syndrome should be able to marry himself and be treated as man and wife.
This of course could be BS put about by the media; but given the illegality of sex change in her native country, the childhood photos from very early in her life, and the fact that no-one to my knowledge has yet come up with any evidence of her having transitioned, I am inclined to suspect that it is the populist slop machine that has misconstrued this case and embarrassed the dissident right.

Intersex is not transgender. It's a "siamese twin" that fused together while still in the womb. Twins, one male and one female, but one embryo absorbed the other, causing the resulting baby to be born with various aspects of both male and female biology.
Intersex is a naturally occurring birth defect that has nothing to do with transgender in the slightest.

Not really. XY chromosomes do not make a woman. At best, it is a hermaphrodite. If a hermaphrodite is beating the shit out of women, it's even more of a reason to make sure trannies don't get to compete.

The female boxer chose to get into the ring. The fight was stopped as soon as she raised her hand. The whole thing was consensual. It might have been a mismatch (clearly it was) but the female boxer had every opportunity to raise objections before the match, or even go to the media and make her case if the official would not listen to her. But she chose to fight instead. That was her choice as an adult human female.

This matters though. Most of social media is labelling Khelif a man or trans. which is incorrect - or at best a gross oversimplification.

Most boxing matches are a mismatch and it is not uncommon to see one guy towering over another guy and having an obvious physical advantage (height, reach, build etc). MMA (which this was not obviously) is even more likely to have mismatches which seem to be intentionally set up to create battles of weight/ strength vs speed / agility. The point being, nobody cares about mismatches most of the time.
If the set up for this particular match was unfair (and I would argue that it was) then Carini could have refused to get into the ring and raised her objections to the organisers. But she chose to get into the ring. And when she chose to stop the fight it was stopped.
What I object to is the way this fight has been falsely framed as 'throwing a woman into the ring to be beaten up by a man for sport'. This implies no agency on the part of Carini - which is how feminists define all women throughout history.

I believe Khelif has been defeated 9 times by biological women so I guess technically (statistically) the inequality is not as obvious as some people are claiming.

Then you are objectifying Carini. You should also be consistent and condemn all boxing and all MMA because it is a sport which commonly results in injury and death and many of those fighters come from extreme poverty (as did Khelif) and pro fighting is their only way of escaping that poverty.

This is not a coherent argument because the same argument also applies to thousands of 'glass cellar' jobs that are dirty, dangerous, unpleasant and which ruin your health and often lead to injury or death. In those jobs you don't have the option to raise your hand when you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Nobody does those jobs by choice. They do them because they are poor and desperate. By your logic they are not consenting and so those jobs should be outlawed.

Humans are hard wired to react emotionally to the sight of a woman being beaten up by a man. This is why everyone has lost all perspective over this boxing match. We can draft an entire generation of young men and send them off to be shot to bits in a muddy field and feel LESS upset or outraged than we do when we see a single woman getting beaten up in a fight that she consented to.
Obviously the rules need some adjusting to accommodate the 0.0001% of intersex boxers out there, but getting caught up in all the pearl clutching is not helping anyone (except the feminists obviously).
